If a picture speaks a thousand words then this collection must equate to a weighty volume about sibling pride. 4 and a half-year-old Imogen was quick to welcome me into her family home and present to me “her baby”. What followed was a couple of hours of cuddles and kisses, in between hungry feeding times.
Clients often want to know how long their newborn session might take. Especially since my sessions are geared towards a less-posed lifestyle approach. And my answer is always that it’s up to their baby. I follow that little person’s lead because only they really know what they want!
In Edison’s case that was quite a bit of milk and snuggles with mum! The delight for me in a session where we take a few feeding breaks is that I can use that time to get to know the family better, spend time with older siblings, and document the wonderful moments that happen when we’re not completely focused on the camera. For me the magic lies in those authentic moments of relaxation and “downtime”. And I am so excited that this sweet newborn session is sprinkled with magical moments like that!
Emma and Julian, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and spending the morning with me. I hope that you love this record of your gorgeous family as they are at this magical moment in time.
