There’s not a whole lot to love about Auckland weather when it’s soggy and grim this time of year. Except, that is, for the beautiful autumn sunsets. Which is why I was so pleased to work with a family that was keen to brave the cold and head out for a gorgeous coastal evening session.
Little Jonno and Annabelle know this spot in Maraetai really well, so they were able to show me all the best places to play while we chatted and made the most of a glorious (if cold) autumn evening. We went on a bear hunt through the bush, discovered a nest of guineafowl eggs, and squelched through more mud that you could shake a stick at. And after all that, these outdoorsy troopers still had the energy for a quick play at the beach to make the most of the fading sun.
To Nicci and Rob, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your gorgeous family enjoying the coastal wonderland you love so much. I had a great time exploring with you guys and I hope you love these moments from our time together.
