I’m feeling a bit guilty that this post has been so long in the making. I met little Jackson and his lovely parents Angela and Jo a fortnight ago, and it’s taken me until now to pull this together. I have no doubt that in those two weeks little Jack will have changed a bunch. But then that’s point of having newborn photos taken. Because their newness and tininess is so fleeting. While the days might seem long (and occasionally monotonous), the weeks and months can suddenly disappear in a blur and it’s hard to remember that he once fit into the palm of dad’s hands, or that his grip was barely strong enough to grasp one finger. The memory of a tiny nose dotted with milk spots seems to fade and you’re onto the next thing.
So Angela and Jo I hope these images serve as a window to another time. Perfect, beautiful newness preserved for years to come. Thank you for inviting me into your home and sharing those early days with me.
