“We’ve come a long way since that first date, huh?”. I caught this casual remark from Rebekah to Richard as we wandered along the beach. And me being nosy as all heck I just had to know more. Turns out that St Heliers was the first place these two love birds spent meaningful time together.
“Honestly I think I terrified him” she said. You see she was bold enough to tell this man that HE was the reason she’d moved back to New Zealand. Dude, no pressure.
Fast forward a few years and he’s no longer terrified. In fact Richard has fearlessly taken on the mantle of dad and hero to this tribe of lovely ladies. And who can blame him… I mean with all the long flowing hair and the long striding legs and the pouty-lipped doll faces (ok that bit is just wee Ramona).
This is a family that lives, loves and laughs freely. Rebekah singing her love songs to her girls, Richard sweeping them up in ticklish embraces. Magda and Ramona are two lucky wee poppets. And I was a very lucky lady to spend the afternoon with them.
