Meet Lisa - a mother on a mission to spread courage and kindness.
Lisa reached out to me because she was in the market for some branding photography for Shine & Co, her online store and “dream space”. I use her own words there because Shine & Co really is so much more than a simple online t-shirt shop - it’s a space inspired by single-motherhood and dedicated to supporting women as they make a commitment to putting themselves first.
Shine & Co was forged in the fires of a tumultuous time in Lisa’s life. She had walked away from a toxic relationship, leaving behind her social circle, becoming a single mother of two and shifting countries, all with a determination to prioritise happiness and self-care.
That kind of upheaval and life change is monumental. And it’s fair to say it has changed her. But it’s important to note that this is not a victim’s story. This is a hero’s journey. Or rather a heroine’s. And it was evident to me in spending the morning with Lisa that this is a journey she was meant for. Her energy and positivity are infectious. It seems only right that she now shares her lessons on self-love with the world via the online community she’s fostering.
Through the Shine & Co store Lisa offers t-shirts sporting positive affirmations and essential oils perfect for self-care. $5 from every Shine Tees T-shirt sale is donated to a local charity that supports domestic abuse awareness, and the Shine Journal is a haven of inspiring tips for self-care and navigating single-motherhood.
I love recognising and encouraging entrepreneurs, especially when those boss-ladies happen to be mums, and I’m always on the lookout for small business to work with. I genuinely love helping to bring your brand to life with personalised imagery. So if you’re in the market for something to spruce up your own Instagram feed drop me a line. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at some of the new brand images you’ll be seeing across Shine & Co’s social feeds.
