I often talk about the fact that I love photographing families in their own home because that’s where they’re most relaxed and able to be themselves, to feel quite literally at home. And yet for this family, who love nature walks and flowers and trees there is probably no place they feel more content than strolling through a park together (except maybe a soccer pitch - the other family passion!).
It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with this beautiful family. Despite wind and rain threatening for the days before hand we got a clear afternoon and a park full of strewn leaves to play with.
It didn’t matter that little Melis, who pretty much exclusively speaks Turkish, didn’t understand most of what I was saying. Apparently I looked like another blonde girl she knew and that was enough to make us buddies! Besides which I spent most of the time simply cooing over her adorable dimples and huge chocolatey eyes anyway!
Zerrin and Altan, thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your family. It is my hope with my family sessions that I capture the spark of connection that unites people. The love that binds them together and the laughter that envelopes it all. I hope that’s what you feel when they look at these photographs of your gorgeous family.
