I’m a lifestyle photographer, which means I take authentic images that don’t feel too forced or posey.

As well as being a photographer, I also studied film and spent years as the marketing manager for TV2, so I have a truly nerd-level love of all things film & television!

This insight allows me to craft headshots that not only capture your essence but also align with what casting directors and agents seek.

    You’ll have time for plenty of outfit changes and we’ll shoot against a range of plain backdrops as well as natural environments. So you’ll see tonnes of variety in your gallery.

    We will be sure to get the tight casting headshot, as well as creative headshots, wider mid shots and full length if required.

    The ideal choice for young performers looking to get started in the industry or any actors wanting a top-notch headshot for industry use (e.g. IMDB, and Showcast) agency listings, personal websites and social media.

  • Choose your 15 favourites from a gallery of beautifully edited images and download them in full high resolution.

    AND if you simply can not choose 15 once you see them, you can upgrade and keep the entire gallery (both high res and web-ready files) for an additional $200.

Let me take one more thing off your plate. I don’t want you to worry about how to do your hair and make up, or spend hours attempting it before your shoot and winding up frazzled!

I’ll book and bring in my favourite professional hair and make up artist to give you the ultimate confidence boosting glow-up! Then she’ll stay on-site to make sure fly-aways and flecks are tamed and hair styles and make up can be altered for variety.

What casting directors and agents are looking for in your headshots

Authenticity

Your headshot should be a true reflection of your current look without excessive retouching. That way your photo matches the person who walks into the room.

Natural Look

There is a preference for headshots with natural light and subtle retouching. Genuine expressions that match your personality are important.

Simplicity

Clean backgrounds or environments that compliment and support the actor rather than distracting from them.

Professionalism

Your headshot should be professional and reflect that you understand your casting type and can present with consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I know, right?! It feels like it should just take a few quick snaps - how much can that really cost?

    But the reality is that standout quality professional headshots are the result of preparation, a relaxed environment with clear guidance and the right combo of light, experience and editing magic.

    All of that service is what you’re paying for, not just a couple of frames.

    With that said, I appreciate not all budgets are the same. If you need to book an Express Shoot to minimise the impact on your wallet then chat to me about that.

  • Please view my Actor’s Headshots portfolio. Everything you see here is an indication of what you can expect from my shooting and editing style.

  • I’m based in Three Kings, Auckland.

  • 4 outfits for a 60 minute session is a good guide. But bring as many options as you like and we can go through them together to find the best looks that represent you.

    You’ll receive a comprehensive Prep Guide complete with wardrobe suggestions when you book.

    If you're booking an Express Headshot please note you will only be photographed in a maximum of 3 outfit choices.

  • I strongly recommend booking the optional extra of professional hair and makeup with me (+$390).

    However if you’d prefer to do it yourself, you should keep your make up light and natural. Avoid heavy eye makeup, bright lips or very glamorous styles. Opt for matte eye and lip colours over gloss or shimmer as they are less distracting.

  • Stay well hydrated and avoid overly salty foods or alcohol the night before. Get a good night’s sleep (tired eyes show in photos).

    Try on all your outfits in advance. Look for stains and tears. Iron or steam everything and hang it up the night before. Less editing of clothing fails means more pictures in your gallery.

  • The School Application special is limited to 45 minutes, and is only available in July/August each year.

    Otherwise, I like to book a longer session so that you have plenty of time to relax into your shoot and warm up on camera. It's best to put aside a few hours.

  • Your images will be professionally polished in my signature natural style. Think of it as the very best version of you!

    Temporary marks like pimples, spots and bruises will be removed, but anything permanent (like scars or birth marks) will be left in.

    Skin tone will be evened out - but you won’t be made to look like plastic. It’s important you still look like you!
